Someone special, just like you!
I don't pretend to be anyone other than who I am, and who I am changes constantly. Well, some of my bad habits and tendencies tend to stick around longer than they should. I suppose it depends on the day and circumstances. Basically, I am a messy human searching for meaningful experience and connection, just like so many others.
I love this quote from Anne Frank, "Writing in a diary is a really strange experience for someone like me. Not only because I've never written anything before, but also because it seems to me that later on neither I nor anyone else will be interested in the musing of a thirteen-year old school girl. Oh well, it doesn't matter. I feel like writing."
My heart is full of gratitude for Anne and her decision to document her thoughts and feelings. Her perspective and amazing attitude while enduring unthinkable acts against humanity continues to inspire generations.
My desire is to share experiences that pushed me outside of my comfort zone. My hope in sharing, is that you will realize just how similar we are.
Our basic needs are universal and surprisingly simple. They surpass race, culture, societal expectations, as well as our fears and self-doubts.
